Essential Education: Those who desire to apply for these jobs should have completed Master’s Degree or Degree in Geology or Applied Geology from any UGC recognized university or institutions.
- Required Qualification – B.Sc/ Degree
Work Experience: Individuals who are holding beforehand work experience in any field works would be an added plus for them.
Age Restrictions & Relaxation: The minimum age limit which is fixed for all the position is 18 years. The upper age limit is freezed to 30 years for aspirants who are not belonging to SC/ SC (A)/ ST/ MBC/ DC/ BC/ BCM.
However, there is no age limit for applicants who are belonging to SC/ SC (A)/ ST/ MBC/ DC/ BC/ BCM & Widows of all castes. The age of the applicants would be computed as on 1st July 2017.

Only for Geologist post, aspirants belonging to reserved category can get relaxation upto 33 years as per norms.
Selection Methods: With reference to the details provided by the individuals through the online form, deserving candidates would be invited for written examination (degree standards).
Aspirants who are doing well in this examination would be invited for Personal interview or Oral test. The marks obtained by the candidates will be calculated and a final merit list would be prepared.

Remunerations: Selected candidates have to produce their medical certificate at the time of joining. The appointments would be made on permanent basis after reviewing the performance of appointees. The monthly wages would be paid in the form of pay band two only.
- Pay Scale – Rs.9300 to 34800/- pm
- Grade Pay – Rs.5100/-
Registration/ Exam Fee: Aspirants who have not applied for any examination conducted by TNPSC have to fill the one time registration form by paying Rs.50/-. Also pay the specified examination fee by using online mode (net banking, credit or debit card) or challan.
Aspirants who are belonging to SC/ ST/ SC (Arunthathiyars), PWD, Widows are exempted from fee payment. Moreover, applicants belonging to MBC/ Denotified Communities/ BC/ BCM who have not availed three free chances in any previous examinations need not pay the fee.
