TANCET Previous Question Papers 2017: The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is scheduled in March month for the 2017-18 year admission for Post Graduate courses. In about 15 centres within Tamil Nadu, arrangements for this entrance exam is planned to be done. State government has nominated Anna University at Chennai to take incharge of the responsibilities of conducting TANCET examination. Every year this chance will be given to thousands of graduates, to appear in TANCET exam. Other state candidates who are having interest to do their PG in Tamil Nadu are also encouraged to participate in this entrance exam.
Before issuance of Hall Tickets/ Admit Card for this examination, concerned admitting authorities will check whether appliers are satisfying the minimum eligibilities prescribed by them i.e. in terms of qualification/ experience, etc.
- Citizens having valid Hall Ticket can attend the test.
- Use only black ball point pen for shading answers.
- Silence should be maintained inside exam hall.
- Avoid shading of multiple responses for a single question.
- Using mobile phones/ books for copying, is punishable one.
- Don’t fail to shade the question book number in answer sheet.
By scoring high marks in this test, getting admission to study mastered courses in reputed government or other colleges become easy. For this purpose, based on ranks counselling will be conducted. Also, the fees will be less than entering through management quota.
TANCET Question Pattern: The questions are going to be asked on Undergraduate standard only, for TANCET exam 2017. Contestants can expect general awareness, basic science, arithmetical ability related questions also. Below table gives some clear idea about the pattern.

- Questions will be asked from above sections only, for each course.
- MCQs would be given and OMR sheets would be distributed.
- Penalties are applicable for wrong answers.
From Basic Engineering & Sciences section about 35 questions would be asked but only for 20 correct answers marks will be given. If the other shaded responses (remaining 15 questions) seem to be incorrect, then marks will be definitely reduced.
Only to calculate discipline related section marks, authorities will use the formula as given below,
- Normalised Marks = 40 + (10/s) (r-m)
m – Mean mark
s – Standard Deviation
r – Raw marks

TANCET Exam 2017
TANCET is the state government approved entrance exam for doing admissions in PG courses like MBA/ MCA/ ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan on full time as well as lateral entry. The Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ Computer Application/ Science graduates used to participate in this exam. This year the TANCET exam applications are asked to be submitted by interested degree holders from 29th January to 28th February 2017, by paying requisite amount of fee.
