TANCET 2017: In order to study higher level courses in colleges of Tamil Nadu state after graduation, pass marks in Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is very important. This exam will be conducted annually i.e. on year-to-year basis. For getting admission to the post graduate programmes, this year also an exam notice has been published by concerned authority. Currently studying final year degree students can also compete, except Professional Institution’s courses. Candidates of other states are also eligible to apply for this entrance test, but the eligibility of those persons will be fixed only by admitting authority. Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is a basic eligibility examination for studying PG courses in state. On behalf of Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai Anna University will conduct this examination. For admission to the Business Administration/ Computer Application/ Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Planning programmes 2017 – 2018, now it’s a good chance for citizens to participate and win in the TANCET examination.
Grouping will be done for some of the full time courses i.e. GATE/ TANCET/ Sponsored category. On mark basis, candidates shall get seats in respective institutions. Courses are going to be offered by Government/ Government Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments of Anna University, Self-Financing Engineering Colleges, etc.

Educational Requirement: To apply for the PG courses, aspirants should have passed their graduation with atleast 50% marks. In the qualifying education, only 45% marks is enough for aspirants falling under Reserved category. Appliers are expected to finish their academics in the following pattern or degrees.

Aspirants holding AMIE certificates after Higher Secondary or SSLC with Diploma are also deemed eligible to apply (except lateral entry course). The AMIE or other certificates of professional bodies will be considered as equivalent to Engineering/ Technology degrees.
To join on MCA (Lateral Entry)/ MCA programmes, candidates should also have studied Mathematics in their 10+2 or graduation level.
Work Experience: Full time working experience in the relevant streams is also found to be one of the essential criterion to participate in this TANCET examination.
- Experience required for AMIE certificate holders: 2 years.
Written Exam Pattern: Common Entrance examination will be conducted for getting seats in Colleges, to do post graduation courses. Hall Tickets for this TANCET exam will be issued by the exam conducting authority, very soon. After exam, passed candidates are advised to take printout copy of their marks from website and produce it at the time of admission.
- TANCET Exam: OMR sheets will be issued for answering objective type questions. Depending upon the programme you wish to enter, the question category will also differ as Quantitative Ability/ English/ Computer Awareness/ Engineering Mathematics, etc. But the duration is 2 hours only. For each incorrect answer, about 1/3 mark will be reduced.
Examination Fee: Appliers of TANCET exam 2017 should also have to remit prescribed amount of fee, through online mode. This examination fee is non-refundable in any cases. Individuals who are willing to appear for more than one programme have to remit separate fee for each course.

How to Apply for TANCET 2017
Citizens who are willing to get admission for MBA/ MCA/ ME/ M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan courses have to qualify in the TANCET Examination 2017. To participate in this exam, first applications should be submitted by aspiring candidates. Except online mode, applications submitted in any other way will not be accepted. The guidelines are,
- Open the “annauniv.edu/tancet2017″ link.
- Read the detailed advertisement and instructions of this selection.
- Then press the “Online Registration” tab.
- Hit the “Register” button and enter the requisite basic details.
- Submit it by clicking on “Register” button, to get your User id.
- Then by entering the user id and password, login to open application.
- Fill the academic details and upload photo of jpeg/ jpg
- Edit the changes if any by previewing the datas.
- Atlast hit the “Submit” button.
- Next is the online fee payment process.
- After successful payment, completed application will be generated as pdf.
- Take printout copy of it.
