Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional recruitment agency which conducts Exams for Civil Service, Engineering Service, Medical service, Defence Service, etc. In order to fill the vacancies lying below Junior Time Scale posts, UPSC planned this IES and ISS exams.

Indian Statistical Service (ISS)

Here, the exam duration will differ in test wise. That is 2 hours for Statistics I & II and 3 hours for other subjects. The descriptive sections having short answer, short problem questions, long answer and comprehension problem questions.

  • General English – 100 marks
  • General Studies – 100 marks
  • Statistics-I (Objective) – 200 marks
  • Statistics-II (Objective) – 200 marks
  • Statistics-III (Descriptive) – 200 marks
  • Statistics-IV (Descriptive) – 200 marks

If the candidates succeeded in first stage of written examination, then they will be subject to viva voce of 200 marks.
