TNTET 2017

On speaking about the exam conducting authority Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TNTRB), it’s functioning as a nodal agency for the state government on appointing apt faculties in different educational schools/ institutions. This year also TNTET 2017 Exam is going to be conducted by this board, on April 2017. By reading the officially released notice, interested and eligible Diploma/ Degree holders are asked to submit their applications on time by paying requisite amount of examination fee.

  • By paying Rs.50/- collect applications for this exam from HM of Government Higher Secondary Schools
  • Exam fee is Rs.250/- for SC/ ST/ PH personnel’s and Rs.500/- for others.

Citizens who had participated in earlier TNTET exam and are willing to score some more marks than previous can also took part in this exam. Basic Eligibility Standards

In this section we have mentioned about the basic requirements that applier must have, to participate in the TNTET 2017. Others are found ineligible.

Education: In the 10+2 pattern, aspirants who are desiring to apply for Secondary Grade Teacher vacancies must have finished their Schooling and a Diploma certificate in Teacher Education/ Elementary Education is also necessary. For Graduate Teacher posts, a Degree on subjects like Tamil/ English/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ History/ Geography or equivalent is essential. This education must be studied from recognized institution/ university only.

  • Secondary Grade Teacher: B.Sc and Diploma
  • Graduate Teacher: B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Litt. and B.Ed

Age Limit: No age limits have been set for this TNTET Exam. So anyone who is below superannuation of age can apply.

Experience: Working experience is not a matter because individuals who are appearing in their final semester exams can also apply. But he/ she should be able to produce their certificates for verification, regarding completion of course in academic year 2016 – 2017.

The drawback is, they will not be considered for the current year’s government recruitment process, if failed to submit certificates. But if qualified, TNTET certificates will be given after production of proper credentials.

Selection Criteria

The TET exam going to be organized for filling vacancies in Tamil Nadu Schools is planned to be conducted in 66 Educational District Headquarters (approx). TNTET 2017 comprises of two papers, which will vary based on qualification/ position aspirants are applying.

  • Secondary Grade Teacher – should pass Paper-I of TET exam
  • Graduate Teachers – should pass Paper-II of TET exam
  1. TET Exam: Objective type multiple choice questions would be asked for this examination. Total time given will be 3 hours. Within this duration participants will have to answer for 150 one word type questions.

Paper-I TNTET 2017: In this paper, questions will be drafted from 5 various sections. About 30 questions will be asked from each section and all are compulsory. For each correct answer about 1 mark shall be given by correcting authorities. The subjects are,

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language I – Tamil/ Telugu/ Malayalam/ Kannada/ Urdu
  • Language II – English
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies


Paper-II TNTET 2017: On paper-II, only four sections are there. In the below listed sections, first three are compulsory parts which comprise of 30 questions (each) and the last one is optional with 60 questions. As said for paper-I, for each right answer 1 mark would be given.

  1. Document Verification: To invite for this certificate verification round, participants might have scored 60% and above marks in TNTET 2017. Candidates whose certificates are found valid and eligible shall only be issued with the TET qualified certificate.

It is notable that, when need arises the recruitment of Teachers as per TET scores shall be done by government. Merely issuing of TET qualified certificate does not guarantee any type of selection immediately.

TNTET Exam Date 2017

Officially with detail information the notice is supposed to release on 20th February 2017. Nearly after three weeks, applications will be distributed from concerned organisations. Within the end of March 2017, completed applications and fee payment copy should be submitted in Office of District Educational Officer in person. Paper-I and Paper-II TET exams will be conducted on two different days in the morning session.
