TNPSC Group 1 Model Question Paper 2017
TNPSC Group 1 examination will be conducted in various districts of Tamil Nadu, as this is a state government recruitment. Candidates coming to participate in this test will be issued with OMR answer sheets. In that, contestants have to indicate their register number, etc. as instructed by invigilator.
Commission will not reduce any marks for shading or writing of incorrect answers in OMR sheets, but depending upon the number of questions you write correct your marks will increase. TNPSC Group 1 exam questions will be in Degree standard only, as the minimum educational qualification prescribed for writing this examination is degree.

- TNPSC Group 1 prelims exam is purely objective type.
- Totally 200 questions will come for examination.
- Maximum time that will be given would be 180 minutes.
Minimum qualifying marks have been set by Commission for prelims exam, based on communities. We have given the details below.

The preliminary exam is to screen unfitting aspirants separately and reject them. Only participants who are scoring marks above this cut-off will be announced as pass. But depending upon merit marks only, aspirants will be further shortlisted for main examination. The exam pattern is given below.

TNPSC Group 1 Syllabus 2017: In the above patterns only TNPSC will conduct this Group-I Combined Civil Services examination. TNPSC Group 1 Examination is to findout the right persons for appointing them in Civil, Police, Registration, General, Fire & Rescue and Commercial Taxes departments of state government, as Deputy Collector, Dy. Superintendent, Assistant Commissioner, District Registrar, Employment Officer and Fire & Rescue Officer. Graduates who had submitted applications to participate in this recruitment upto second week of December 2017 shall only be given with admit cards to participate in the first round of selection i.e. prelims exam scheduled on February 2018. Then as said above, main and interview rounds of selection would also be conducted. Vacancies are within hundred in number, so depending upon the performance of candidates in main exam & interview, decisions of final appointment will be taken by Commission.
