Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting this Stenographer recruitment to fill the vacancies that are existing in Ministries/ Departments of Central Government, including its attached or subordinate offices located in states and union territories all over India.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Stenographer: Initially for 2 years period, selected candidates will have to work under probation. This period will be useful for aspirants to know about their roles and responsibilities in concerned organization. Some of the duties that will be performed by a Stenographer in Central Government offices are given below.

  • Writing Officers speech in steno and should type the same
  • Helping Officers/ Ministers in speech preparation
  • Assisting in Public Relation works
  • Maintaining files
