Staff Selection Commission (SSC) headquartered in New Delhi is having powers to appoint capable citizens in the respective vacant posts that are open in the departments/ Ministries of the Indian Government on time, by conducting tests and/ or interview. Now to fill the General Central Service MTS vacancies in the states/ Union Territories of country, an All India basis competitive examination has been going to be conducted by this Commission. Matric pass aspirants are the eligible persons to attend this test.

Applications submitted by interested candidates will be taken into consideration for initial scrutiny first and only most fitting aspirants would be allowed to participate in this examination. Leading performers in test may be taken into account for posting i.e. overall merit/ reserve lists will be prepared based on category/ state/ UT wise. Anyhow Commissions decision is final in all cases, for doing appointments for this Non-Technical post.

SSC MTS 2017 Recruitment Details

Through this SSC 2018 recruitment, only one designation in the government departments are going to be filled, which is Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). But the vacancies are more. Only one application should be submitted by enthusiastic personnel’s, for each State/ UT. This is a Group-C category Non-Gazetted & Non-Ministerial job, andso if selected for this position he/ she may get salary and other admissible government benefits.

  • Salary Allotted for MTS post: Rs.5200 – 20200/-
  • Grade Pay for MTS post: Rs.1800/- per month.

Job Requirements and Relaxation Details

The minimum eligibility criteria that a candidate should possess before applying for this SSC MTS 2018 exam are listed here. Only such aspirants will be considered for this MTS examination.

Qualification: School level qualification of 10th standard or equivalent is enough to enter into the Multi Tasking Staff posts in the government cadres of India. But, this education must be obtained from any recognized institution/ board.

  • Passed in Matriculation or equivalent examination

Age Restrictions: Young citizens are needed for the posts of Multi Tasking Staff, so Commission has set minimum and maximum age limits for this designation. The below listed age limits will be computed as on 1st January 2013 only.

  • Minimum Applying Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Applying Age: 25 years

Age Relaxations: Above said age limits will be relaxed incase of categories as tabulated below. But, valid document proofs should be produced for giving relaxations by Commission.

SSC MTS 2017 Application Form Submitting Details

Online applications are asked to be submitted for this SSC MTS 2018 examination. Application fee is also needed to be paid in any SBI branches, using Challan form downloaded from internet site.  Fee once deposited will not be given back.

Selection Criteria for SSC MTS 2017 Exam

OMR based Examination: is the only mode of selection for this SSC MTS 2017 recruitment. This Test will be conducted in any of the centers at Bihar/ Uttar Pradesh/ West Bengal, etc. Change of examination centers will not be permitted. Also, candidates succeeding in this test with good cut-off marks will be taken into consideration for appointment on the basis of merit and availability of vacancies. To resolve the tie cases, date of birth/ names in alphabetical order, etc. tricks will be followed.

Admit Card: The admission certificates for this SSC MTS 2017 examination will be issued atleast 3 weeks before the test is planned to be conducted. Regarding this, intimations will be sent to eligible applicants. Those candidates can download it from Commission website earlier, to avoid last minute complexity.

Exam Pattern: Two papers of questions will be drafted to test the knowledge and elementary language skills of contestants. Individuals who are securing good marks in paper-I will only be permitted to attend the paper-II questions. Depending upon the number correct responses he/ she is answering, marks will be provided. But for each wrong answer, mark deduction is applicable.

  • Paper-I: First section covers the objective type questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English and General Awareness. The total exam duration will be 2 hours and 40 minutes.
  • Paper-II: Second section purely comprises of descriptive type subjects like Short Essay/ Letter in English and Vernacular Language. The time allotted for this paper is 45 minutes only. It is notable that, this section is just qualifying in nature.
