SSC has given powers by government for conducting this competitive examination. The eligibilities and selection details of DEO/ Clerk/ Postal Assistant jobs are stated here.

- Age Limit: 18 to 27 years
- Selection Process: Two Tier Examination, Skill/ Typing Test, Document Verification
CHSL test has been divided into two phases i.e. prelims and mains. First Tier-I i.e. preliminary test will be conducted that will be helpful to reject some unfitting applicants in the initial stage itself. SSC CHSL Syllabus 2017 (prelims) says questions might be drafted from general knowledge, arithmetic skills and official language.
Second is the Tier-II (Mains), for which only shortlisted number of candidates will be issued with entrance certificate. Questions shall come somewhat similar to English subject (except grammar, prose, poem items).
Individuals who are scoring above minimum cut-off set by SSC shall be called for practical tests i.e. Skill Test for Data Entry posts and Typing test for other designations (in English/ Hindi – Junior level).
Major Topics of Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam: Tier-I has about 4 varieties of questions and will have to answer in online mode i.e. in Computer only. SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2017
Prelims: This exam should be answered in objective manner. On different timings or days, this test will be organized. Except language part, questions will be set in English & Hindi. About four sections will be there and from each part candidates can expect about 25 questions.

Main: Tier-II test is fully of essay type. Use pen to answer for the questions in OMR sheets. Candidates can write in either Hindi/ English. Answers written in other language will not be accepted.

SSC CHSL Exam 2017
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has planned CHSL exam in 10+2 standard for filling 3281 Postal/ Sorting Assistant, 1321 Lower Division Clerk, 506 Data Entry Operator and 26 Court Clerk positions, under different government establishments. Following government policy, seats are also reserved for PH persons. Based on Tier-I and Tier-II marks only, final select list will be prepared.
