SSC CHSL Cut Off 2017: Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam is a competitive exam that will be conducted once in a year by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Data Entry Operator, Lower Division Clerk, Court Clerk and Postal/ Sorting Assistants are the posts that will be filled in various departments of Indian Government through this exam, if found vacant. SSC CHSL Cut off 2017
On response of this upcoming SSC CHSL exam, individuals who are submitting applications correctly will be invited for the first round of Computer based exam i.e. Tier-I. Then while publishing results, SSC will also release the cut-off fixed for Tier-I exam and the details of number of candidates eligible to write Descriptive Paper (i.e. Tier-II).
Next individuals satisfying the minimum cut-offs set for Tier-II examination will be further invited for the Skill/ Typing tests.
- No sectional cut-offs will be fixed (only overall).
- Usually cut-offs for Tier-I exam will be fixed based on category.
- Cut-offs for Tier-II exam will be fixed generally.
- Skill/ Typing test is of qualifying in nature.
It should be rememberable that, before fixing cut-offs, SSC will consider the difficulty level of exam, number of vacancies, performance of competitors, etc.
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Cut Off 2017
About 25 questions will be asked from each topic like General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. But the maximum marks for which exam will be conducted is 200. Total duration is 75 minutes, but incase of VH/ OH persons 100 minutes will be given.
- Exam is of objective type.
- For each correct answer 2 marks will be awarded.
- For every wrong answer 25 marks will be deducted.
- No marks will be reduced for unanswering questions.

SSC CHSL Tier-II Cut Off 2017
Tier-II SSC CHSL is a descriptive exam. To examine the writing skill of aspirants this round of selection is being organized by Commission.
- Maximum marks for which exam will be conducted is 100.
- One hour is the maximum time that will be given to contestants.
- Compensatory time of 20 minutes is applicable for VH/ OH category disabled persons.

Above given cut-off is just the minimum qualifying cut-off for Tier-II exam. Andso, candidates who are taking higher percentage of marks (out of 100) shall only be given first preference, based on availability of vacancies.
Tier-II cut-off Relaxation: Aspirants meeting the minimum qualifying cut-off indicated in table shall only be invited for the Tier-III examination. This cut-off is first applicable for general category contestants.
- Cut-offs of Tier-II exam may be relaxed for SC/ ST/ Ex-SM/ PH/ OBC persons
If sufficient number of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-SM/ PH/ OBC is not available on the basis of qualifying criteria (33%) fixed for general category, inorder to fill the vacancies reserved for those categories SSC will relax the above said cut-off and invite those aspirants for the Skill/ Typing test.
SSC CHSL Tier-III Cut Off 2017(Skill Test)
Individuals desiring to enter on Data Entry Operator posts have to appear in the Skill test (8000 key depressions per hour) on Computer. For all other posts, there will be Typing test on Computer (35 words per minute incase of English and 30 w.p.m. incase of Hindi).
- Duration of Skill test is 15 minutes (35 minutes for VH/ OH persons).
- Duration of Typing test is 10 minutes (30 minutes for VH/ OH persons).
For SSC CHSL Skill/ Typing test, cut-offs will be calculated in following manner by concerned authorities of Commission.
- Minimum Cut-off – Just qualifying in nature (in prescribed duration and without too much mistakes)

SSC CHSL Appointment 2017
After Skill/ Typing test, final results will be declared by Commission through its official web portal. Only those who qualify the Skill/ Typing test shall only be considered further for appointment.
By combining Tier-I & II marks, decisions of final appointment will be taken i.e. ranking will be done based on category and availability of vacancies in each cadre.

Resolution of Tie Cases: Incase of tie, SSC will adopt following methods for appointing deserving aspirants in respective posts.
