SSC CGL Cut Off 2017: A notification for Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination has been released by Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Usually this sort of exam will be conducted only once in a year by Commission. SSC CGL Cut Off 2017

SSC CGL Exam 2017 will be conducted in four tiers by SSC (last year there are only three tiers). First two tiers of exam are Computer based exam and objective type. But the third tier is a descriptive exam. Fourth tier exam is the Computer Proficiency/ Skill Test.

After each tier of exam, SSC will fix minimum qualifying cut-offs. Usually Commission will fix cut-offs for exam by considering the following factors.

  • Number of vacancies
  • Number of competitors
  • Difficulty level of exam
  • Performance of contestants, etc.

Aspirants have to clear each tier of exam one-by-one, by satisfying the SSC CGL Cut off that will be fixed by Commission. It varies based on category/ paper.

It should be rememberable that, admit cards will be issued to candidates for each tier of CGL exam based on this qualifying criteria only.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Cut Off

Tier-I exam will be conducted in online mode for 60 minutes duration. About 100 questions will be asked in this exam from various topics like General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Marks will be awarded as per following criteria.

  • Each Correct Answer = 2 marks
  • Each Wrong Answer = 50 marks deduction
  • Unanswered question = No marks

Cut-offs for Tier-I SSC CGL Exam will be fixed on following format. Depending upon category, this may vary.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Cut off

Tier-II Exam will also be conducted online with objective type questions. Depending upon posts, questions will be drafted from different topics as follows.

For English Language 200 questions will come and for other sections 100 questions will be asked from each topic. Marks will be awarded on following format for SSC CGL Tier-II exam.

  • Each Correct Answer = 1 mark for English Language questions and 2 mark for others
  • Each Wrong Answer = 25 mark deduction for English section and 0.50 for others

Commission has decided to fix cut-offs for Tier-II examination of SSC CGL 2017 in the following ways.

  • Sectional Cut-offs
  • Aggregate Cut-offs (i.e. overall)

Sectional cut-offs means, for each paper SSC will fix separate minimum qualifying cut-offs. Overall Cut-off scores for SSC CGL Tier-II exam will be calculated based on following strategies.

  • Assistant Audit Officer = Scores obtained in Quantitative Aptitude + English Language + General Studies
  • Junior Statistical Officer = Scores obtained in Quantitative Aptitude + English Language + Statistics
  • Other Posts = Scores obtained in Quantitative Aptitude + English Language

Previous SSC CGL Tier-II Cut Offs: By combining Tier-I and Tier-II marks Commission released below tabulated cut-offs last year. Individuals falling under these cut-offs are invited for Tier-III examination.

Expected SSC CGL Tier-III Cut off

Till last year, the third round of selection is Computer Proficiency/ Skill Test/ Document Verification. This year the third round of CGL exam is a descriptive exam. Aspirants have to answer for the questions in OMR sheets. For 100 marks this pen and paper mode of exam will be conducted. Questions will be in graduation level. Candidates have to finish the exam in 1 hour.

SSC CGL Tier-IV Cut-off 2017

Tier-IV examination of SSC CGL 2017 is the Skill Test that will be conducted based on positions which candidates had applied.

  • Data Entry Speed Test – Tax Assistant posts (except OH candidates opting CBDT department)
  • Computer Proficiency Test – For Assistant Section Officer (CSS & MEA) and Assistant (SFIO & GSI) posts.

These tests have been decided to be conducted on Computer. The exam pattern and cut-off details are given below.

Individuals qualifying in above said selection rounds would be provisionally invited for the Document Verification. Requisite original certificates should be submitted infront of concerned authorities for verification purpose, on intimated date. SSC CGL Physical Tests

For Inspector and Sub-Inspector posts, finally there will be physical standards and/ or efficiency tests before appointment. This will be conducted by the concerned departments which aspirants had opted for working (i.e. Central Excise/ Examiner/ Preventive Officer/ CBN). The minimum qualifying standards of each physical test are given below.

SSC CGL Appointment 2017

All India Merit List for each category of posts will be prepared by Commission based on marks taken by contestants in all those selection rounds. Finally depending upon available number of vacancies and option of preference indicated by candidates at the time of document verification, SSC will recommend the top rankers in merit list for appointment.

  • Final Appointment = Tier-I + Tier-II + Tier-III marks (also qualified in other selection rounds as applicable)
