As like every year, registration for IBPS SO Exam 2017 also started on November month. In about 36 state/ union territories/ NCRs, this exam would be conducted. IBPS is not responsible for appointment of candidates in respective organizations. IBPS CRP SPL-VII Eligibility Criteria
Apart from the nationality/ citizenship (Indian/ subject of Nepal/ Bhutan, etc.) prescribed to participate in IBPS SO 2017, there are also certain eligibilities like qualification & age which are illustrated below.
- Academic Requirements: Depending upon SO post you wish to apply, the requisite qualification changes as tabulated. Good academic record is a desirable criterion.

- Age Restrictions: While computing as on 27th November 2017, the age of candidates should be within the limits given down.
- Minimum age limit: 20 years
- Maximum age limit: 30 years
- Age Concessions: IBPS has decided to give relaxations for the following candidates, if found having age above the maximum specified. But aspirants must produce valid document proofs for that (like caste/ discharge/ disability, etc. certificates).
- SC/ STs/ Ex-SM/ Commissioned Officers: 5 years
- J&K domiciles/ Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 years
- OBC candidates: 3 years
- Disabled persons: 10 years
IBPS SO 2017 Selection Process
IBPS SPL-VII CRP CWE : Common Written Exam will be conducted for IBPS SPL-VII recruitment 2017. From this year onwards, the exam will be of two phases namely,
- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
Contestants performing well in prelims exam shall only be shortlisted and invited for the main exam on January 2018, by issuing admit cards.
Cut-offs: Contestants must take a minimum score in each section of test, to be declared as qualified. The cut-off scores will be fixed later by the IBPS by seeing the number of exam attendees, their performance and vacancies. Failing the participants will not be called for further round of selection, which is interview.
- Exam cut-off marks not fixed
IBPS SO-VII Interview: Based on main exam marks, aspirants shall be invited for the interview process. The participating organizations on coordination with nodal banks of respective state/ union territories will call well performers in test for an interview on selected centres, with the help of IBPS. Individuals failing to submit necessary original certificates at the time of interview will not be considered for appointment, even if performed well in test/ interview.
- Total Interview marks = 100
- Qualifying marks = 40% (only 35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD persons)
IBPS SO-VII Final Merit List: By combining the main exam and interview performance scores of participants (in the ratio of 80: 20) and based on availability of vacancies, leading candidates who are found medically fit shall be opted for respective Specialist Officer Scale-I posts by following reservation criteria set as per government guidelines.
- Selection = Prelims (qualify) + Main Exam + Interview + Medical Fitness
Appointment: Selected candidates may be appointed on branches of any of the participating banks within or outside India, based on requirements.

- New users do the “Registration” first.
- Login into the application after getting provisional registration number & password on successful registration of basic details.
- Fill the requisite information correctly in application.
- Upload your scanned images of photo, sign.
- Use “Save and Next” after filling all sections.
- Check the entered details once and press the “Submit” button.
- On submission of application, the online payment gateway will display.
- If your transaction is successful, an e-receipt will be generated.
- Then take printout copy of submitted application, e-receipt for reference.
