About 56 Regional Rural Banks will participate in this IBPS RRB recruitment. For Office Assistant posts only exam will be conducted, but for Officer posts both exam and interview will be conducted. Roles and Responsibilities of RRB PO and Office Assistant

Before looking into the salary package for respective posts, let’s see about the roles and responsibilities of an Officer and Office Assistant in a bank.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Salary:

Office Assistant is a Group ‘B’ category position in RRBs. He/ she handle the multipurpose works in bank. Sometimes candidates may be placed as a probationer for 1 year, initially. The in-hand salary that is applicable for an Office Assistant is given below.

RRB Office Assistant Salary: Rs.15000 to 19000/- (approx)

IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 Salary:

Depending upon scales which candidates are placed, the salary also varies. Individuals hired for the Scale-I Officer posts will be in probation for a period of 2 years initially. On successful completion of probation, he/ she will work as an Assistant Manager. Salary will be offered on monthly basis as follows.

RRB Officer Scale-I Post: Rs.29000 to 33000/- (approx)

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II Salary: Experienced candidates will be hired for Officer Scale-II posts, which is equivalent to Manager position. In the Officer Scale-II posts itself there are two categories, which are General Banking Officer and Specialist Officers. As like Scale-I posts, individuals hired for Officer Scale-II posts will also be subjected to probation initially. Anyhow the salary applicable for new recruits is given below.

RRB Officer Scale-II Post: Rs.33000 to 39000/- (approx)

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-III Salary: Individuals with minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in bank or financial institutions will be selected for Officer Scale-III position. This position is equivalent to Senior Manager. Salary that will be given to Scale-III Officers will be higher than Scale-I/ II Officers.

RRB Scale-III Officer Salary: Rs.38000 to 44000/- (approx)

But remember, most probably from November onwards (or before) the salary and allowances of bank employees are going to be increased by 15%. It is the decision taken by Union and Indian Bank’s Association.

Promotional Benefits: There is a scope of promotion for Officers upto higher managerial scale level. Candidates who are appointed for Office Assistant works may get a chance for Officer level promotion, depending upon the period of experience gained by them or either on deputation basis.
