What is IBPS:  Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a self-governed recruiting agency founded for conducting competitive exams to appoint deserving young graduates in various public sector banks except State Bank of India (SBI). Likewise, all other recruitment boards IBPS conduct competitive exams, but these exams are exclusively held for bank jobs. However, IBPS established themselves as a standardized exam conducting authority and based on request it will also conduct exams for other organizations. What is IBPS

IBPS has now turned to be one of the leading recruiting organization for bank jobs. It implements world class processes for assessment and selection of suitable aspirants for various nationalized banks in India. The four Common Written Exams (CWEs) that will be conducted once in a year by IBPS are listed here.

Recruitment based projects: Lakhs of open market citizens participate in the recruitment based exams of IBPS. Incase of recruitments for PO/ SO/ RRB/ Clerk posts IBPS itself does the following tasks successfully. The participating banks will not take part in these activities.

  • Collects applications by fixing deadline

  • Issue CWE Admit Cards for eligible applicants

IBPS have no role in issuance appointment order to competitors. It’s upto the decision of participating banks. Based on reservation policy and available number of vacancies in each branch of participating banks, deserving number of aspirants will be appointed to respective designations.

Promotion based projects: Based on requests sent by various banks, IBPS conducts various promotion based exams as follows. The number of participants in this promotion based exam is very less compared to other exams.

  • MMGS-II to III
  • MMGS-III to IV
  • Sub-staff to Clerk, etc.

Admission Exams: For helping major universities and reputed management institutes IBPS conducts this Admission tests. Upto date, the number of admission tests conducted by IBPS is very less than other exams. Some of the organizations for which candidates are tested for management courses are,
