IBPS PO 2017 Exam Notification
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an Indian agency. Each year for filling up the Clerical/ PO/ SO posts in nationalized/ state/ RRBs, IBPS will conduct examinations and interview. This year also for occupying the open PO posts, Common Written Examination (CWE) has been announced by IBPS. Eligibility Criteria for IBPS PO Exam
The requirements that applying candidates have to satisfy to get considered for the IBPS PO 2017 and its details are listed in this section one-by-one.
Qualification: Aspirants who had finished graduation in any discipline, but obtained certificate from institute/ university recognized by Indian Government are eligible to apply. Equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government is also an acceptable one.

Age Limit: While calculating as on 1st July 2017, General category appliers should not have crossed the following age limits. Necessary document proofs should also be submitted to prove his/ her eligibility.

Age Relaxations: Concessions will be given only for upper age. Candidates falling under any of the below listed categories will definitely get relaxation and are eligible to apply. Selection for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts is going to be done through CWE examinations in two different tiers and through personal interview. The exams will be conducted purely on online mode i.e. Computer based test. Penalties (0.25 marks for each incorrect answer) are applicable for this CWE exam.
(i) Preliminary Examination: Appliers who are found eligible to attend the IBPS examination shall be issued with admit cards to participate in first round of test, which is preliminary. In this test, for each correct answer 1 mark will be given. The time given for this exam is 1 hour and the questions are covered from,
- English language (30 questions)
- Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions)
- Reasoning Ability (35 questions)
(ii) Main Examination: Separate cut-off marks will be fixed for each of the preliminary exam sections. Competitors who are securing marks above the cut-off will be shortlisted to a concerned limit depending upon staff necessity. Then shortlisted personnel’s would be permitted to attend the Main Examination, which covers following subjects. Total time given will be 140 minutes.
- Reasoning (50 questions)
- English language (40 questions)
- Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions)
- General Awareness especially banking (40 questions)
- Computer Knowledge (20 questions)
(iii) Personal Interview: Those who are securing good marks in main examination shall be called for this final interview round of selection, by the participating organization on coordination with nodal bank in each state/ UT with the help of IBPS. Original certificates would also be verified on the same day.
Cut-Offs: The Cut-offs will be decided/ fixed based on the availability of vacant seats in banks and total number of competitors in each round of selection. For preparation of final merit list, the marks obtained by contestants in main examination will be taken into account.
