UPSC IAS Result 2017 Declared for Prelims Exam Check Result at

IAS Result 2017: Aspirants who have appeared for the IAS preliminary exam will be eagerly waiting for their results. And finally, the commission has updated its official site with the link for checking the IAS Result 2017. A total of 900000 candidates applied for this exam and only 460000 candidates attended the Preliminary examination. Comparing to the last year, the number of aspirants appeared for the exam is large in number. Obviously, the cut-off marks will be really higher this time. Those who are passing this examination will be qualified for main examination. Moreover, many aspirants have secured more marks comparing to the last time. IAS Result 2017

UPSC is the recruitment agency which organizes examination every year for recruiting suitable aspirants below various Civil services, Defence services, Railway services, etc. This year, there were lot of vacancies lying vacant below Group A and B civil services. To fill these positions, UPSC planned for an open competitive exam.

Aspirants who have completed degree and aging between 21 to 32 years were allowed to submit their applications through online. By now, the Preliminary exam has been conducted successfully and the commission has also released the IAS Result 2017 two days before.

The questions paper had two papers and each paper comprised of 200 Objective type questions. The minimum pass mark set for this exam was around 110. Those who are passing in this exam will be qualified for the main examination. Those who couldn’t pass in this exam cannot participate in the further events.

UPSC IAS Exam Notification: The advertisement for IAS exam was published on the month of April 2017. According to the notification, any degree holders who have attained 18 years are eligible to apply. As per the exam schedule which was notified on the advertisement, the exam was about to take place on the month of August 2017.

Section Wise Marks and Results: There are two papers in preliminary examination i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II. This exam comprises of objective type questions and each section carries 200 marks. The questions for this examination will be asked from General Awareness, English, Mental Ability, Reasoning, etc.

UPSC IAS Selection Procedure 2017

The selection process for these Group A and B services or posts will comprises of three phases i.e. Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Personality Test. Initially, the online application will be validated by means of qualification and experience. Aspirants who found to be suitable will be invited for prelims.

Qualifying candidates have to appear for the main examination where the questions will be asked from their respective subjects. Candidates who are securing the minimum mark of 33% would be called for personal interview on the respective date and time. Based on the overall performance, he/ she will be considered for selection.

Previous Year Cut-Off Marks: Comparing to the last year, this year the cut-off marks will be very high because of the increase in competition. Previous year, the cut-off mark was around 107 marks for the general category. I’m sure, this time the marks will be very high.

How to Check IAS Result 2017

Candidates who participated have participated in the IAS preliminary exam can start to check their IAS Result 2017 by visiting the official portal of Commission. It is very simple to check your results through online. You no need any login information for viewing the results. Your results will be displayed in the form of PDF file. The list will comprise of roll number of the shortlisted candidates who are qualified for the next round i.e. Main Examination.

Aspirants have to visit the official site of UPSC and click on the Result link which will be scrolling below what’s new section. On the new page, click on the PDF file which is near to the concerned Exam name. The name list of the shortlisted candidates will appear on the new screen in printable form. Search for your roll number in that list. If your roll number is not available on the list, then it means you are not qualified for the next round.
