APSET 2017 Notification Online Application Form for Asst Professor Eligibility Exam

APSET 2017: Andhra University in Visakhapatnam is going to conduct one State Eligibility Test (SET) on last day of July 2017. Purpose of conducting this exam now is due to greater demand for the Assistant Professor/ Lecturer posts that are vacant in various universities/ degree colleges across Andhra Pradesh. As this is a state level exam, we advice post graduated bonafide residents of AP to appear in this test. Because this APSET qualified certificate is valid only on educational institutions within state. Individuals who are appearing in final semester exams of relevant PG course can also apply for this APSET 2017. But they must be able to produce qualifying PG degree records within one year of declaration of SET result. From this statement itself it is clear that, experience/ age is not a bar to appear in APSET 2017.

APSET 2017

Usually SET will be conducted only once in a year. University Grants Commission (UGC) in New Delhi had given permission to Andhra University to execute this APSET exam (during next three years i.e. from 2016 onwards) andso the exam pattern will be similar to UGC’s National Eligibility Test (NET). This SET test will be conducted in 6 regional centres within state, on a single day and on morning as well as afternoon sessions. In Andhra Pradesh, about 26 universities, 146 Government Degree Colleges and 1192 aided & unaided Degree Colleges are there. After qualifying in this APSET exam, aspirants can apply for Assistant Professor jobs in any of these institutions. Because, all educational organizations within state will prefer this APSET-2017 certificate (particularly good cut-off scorers).

Necessary Qualification: To appear in this APSET 2017, candidates must be a PG degree holder from recognized university or government approved College with not less than 55% marks, on any of the above listed subjects.

  • Master Degree/ Equivalent with 55% marks

Individuals falling under disabled or scheduled caste/ tribe categories and Doctoral Degree holders (completed PG course by 19th September 1991) shall get relaxations in the expected percentage of PG marks as follows.

  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ Ph.D holders: 5% mark relaxation

Exam Process: APSET exam has three papers of questions. First one is the General paper which is common for all candidates and the 2nd, 3rd papers will be subject related questions which aspirants had chosen/ applied. OMR sheets will be issued for marking of correct responses and no marks will be reduced for ticking of incorrect answers.

Application Fee: Depending upon category/ caste which appliers belongs; application registration fee should be paid for this test. Candidates can use Debit/ Credit Cards/ Net Banking facilities for doing this payment.

Those who are unable to register for this exam before last date are also given another chance to apply, by paying an additional/ late fee.

How to Apply for APSET 2017

Citizens who are submitting applications through online mode shall only be issued with admit cards to participate in this APSET 2017 test. Others will not be considered for this exam. The guidelines to fill and submit online application are given here.

  • Open andhrauniversity.edu.in website.
  • Click “APSET – 2017 Notification” link on homepage.
  • Read the instructions and press “Apply Now”.
  • The basic registration form will open. Fill requisite details on it and press “Submit/ Continue”.
  • A unique Application Number and Password will be sent to your email address.
  • Using that “Login” into the application page.
  • Fill the qualification and choice of exam centre, etc. details in application.
  • Press “Submit”. Also upload the scanned copies of photo, signature and caste/ disability certificates in jpeg format.
  • Your application summary will display.
  • Now click “Proceed to make payment” link.
  • State Bank of India website will open. Enter requisite details and do the transaction.
  • Successful payment is indicated by generation of transaction number.
  • After one or two days of making payment, login again and take printout copy of submitted application.
