Botanical Survey of India (BSI) is a Government established organisation that functions beneath the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. Educational Profile: Post Graduates whoever applying for the Junior Project Fellow must have studied their qualification from any UGC recognised university/ institution, with minimum second class marks. Aspirants with first class marks and above can only compete for the Post Doctoral Fellow positions under BSI.
- For Junior Project Fellow post: Master Degree in Botany/ Plant Science or M.Phil in Taxonomy/ Plant Systematics
- For AJCB Post Doctoral Fellow posts: Ph. D on concerned subjects of Taxonomy or equivalent.
Apart from the above said qualification, working knowledge in Computer is a desirable criterion for Junior Project Fellow posts.
Work Experience: Only for Post Doctoral Fellow posts working experience is mandatory. The time that candidates had spent in research work of Ph.D course can also be included in this experience list.
- For Post Doctoral Fellow positions: minimum 5 years
Age Constraints: Above tabulated age limit will be applicable only to the General category candidates, which will be computed as on date of publication of advertisement. In this upper age, relaxations are permitted for aspirants falling under some of the categories as given below.
- For SC/ ST/ PH personnel’s: 5 years
- For OBC applicants: 3 years
- For Notification-II posts: 5 years relaxation for exceptional cases only
Selection Methods: Only reasonable number of most fitting applicants will be called for the selection processes, which are Written Test followed by Oral Examination. Qualifying in these tests does not confer any right for selection. Because, aspirants who are ranking high in terms of written & oral test marks and possessing other desirable skills as expected by BSI shall only get appointed as Junior Project Fellow/ Post Doctoral Fellows.
